Job Description

Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our expanding Dental Department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate appropriate skills to support the dentists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain a sterile and organized clinical environment. This role is essential for delivering exceptional dental care and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare treatment rooms and patients for dental procedures

  • Demonstrates proficiency with Dentrix and the EHR.  Enters relevant ADA codes into Dentrix for review and completion by the dentists.

  • Assist the dentist during various dental treatments and procedures

  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatory areas

  • Take and process dental x-rays (if certified)

  • Maintain accurate patient records and charting in compliance with privacy laws

  • Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist

  • Ensure inventory is stocked and order supplies as needed

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, dental procedures, and follow-up care

  • Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling and billing

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
  • Current [State] Dental Assistant Certification (if required by state)
  • X-ray certification (preferred or required, depending on state regulations)
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • 1+ years of clinical experience preferred.
  • BLS CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in obtaining patient vital signs.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with dental practice management software.
