Job Summary: The Lead Service Advisor works under the director of the Service Advisor Manager and is responsible for overseeing the coordination and monitoring of technician training at designated facilities. This positions plays a crucial role in examining and evaluating records, systems, and processes to ensure accuracy, compliance and efficiency.
Essential Job Functions:
Oversees the coordination of technician training including portal set up, assignment of training, and monitoring completion
Monitors technician direct and indirect labor hours, performance in the shops, and other analytics and develops key performance indicators
Audit timesheets from WDT technicians and embedded external technicians to ensure proper logging of information to include component codes and unit information
Monitor technicians and shops for efficiency in expenses and repairs
Verify proper use of incident component codes
Maintain a system for pictures before and after repairs and invoices
Track trailers units for theft and collaborate with terminal managers, shop management, and outside vendors to reduce theft
Assist in training of systems and software
Track year over year maintenance in major categorical maintenance sectors
Assist in auditing vendors and holding them accountable
Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Participate in regular reviews of quality control processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
Negotiate pricing with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work
Issues payment to vendors through various electronic means
Utilize third party vendors to facilitate roadside assistance and repairs
Coordinate with dispatch when a unit of the fleet is in need of repair
Communicates with internal and external customers in a professional manner at all times
Ensure operational efficiency equipment and mechanical systems through timely inspection and repair
Implement workplace safety policies and standards
Travel to any terminal location as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s license in state of residency with acceptable driving record
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to the company random drug and alcohol program
Good communication and organizational skills
Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Minimum 1 year experience in customer service role, preferably in the automotive or transportation industry
Ability to work any schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Transportation or Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA regulations or the transportation industry
Advanced knowledge of maintenance software

Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach push and pull. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment, a CMV Terminal environment, and outdoors, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office/CMV equipment. Exposure to various climate conditions, fumes, dust, odors, oil/grease, and gasses.
