Job Summary:



The IT Asset Procurement Intern will support the Asset Procurement team in the day to day management of company hardware assets. This is an entry level, hands on role ideal for candidates pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. The intern will gain practical experience in asset lifecycle management, device provisioning, and logistics in a corporate IT environment.



 



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:




  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming equipment orders from vendors and suppliers

  • Apply asset tags and labels to all new hardware in accordance with company standards

  • Log and register all incoming assets into the company’s managed asset tracking solution, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records

  • Organize and store equipment in the designated storeroom, maintaining a clean, orderly, and secure inventory environment

  • Perform periodic physical inventory audits to reconcile records in the asset management system

  • Configure and set up tablets, smartphones, and laptops for new hire onboarding and break fix replacements following established build standards and checklists

  • Enroll devices in the appropriate mobile device management (MDM) or endpoint management platform

  • Package and ship provisioned devices to employees across the United States, coordinating with shipping carriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery

  • Track outbound shipments and update asset records with deployment details including assigned user, ship date, and tracking information

  • Communicate with end users and HR/IT teams to coordinate new hire equipment readiness timelines

  • Coordinate the return of company equipment from terminated or separating employees, working with HR and management to initiate reclamation workflows

  • Receive and inspect returned devices, documenting condition upon receipt

  • Update asset management records to reflect returned or decommissioned status and stage assets for refurbishment, reassignment, or disposal

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values

  • Uphold the organization’s standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulation

  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
