Job Description

Summary 

 The Process Engineer leads and completes moderately complex industrial engineering assignments to improve production safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and delivery. The position supports the Quality and HSE programs through audits and investigations. 

Responsibilities 

  • Continuously optimizes production flow through use of industrial engineering methods including: level loading, time studies, as well as both on-site and external material flow. 
  • Analyzes and evaluates existing systems and processes, identifying value-added and non-value-added activities to solve process challenges. 
  • Researches and tests design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to formulate/support innovation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement. 
  • Designs and implements optimal station layouts that support operators, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase safety and quality. 
  • Drives towards sustainable solutions by developing standard workflow for new and existing products while considering safety and efficiency. 
  • Supports safety performance of the manufacturing area through the design of ergonomic solutions for different operations as well as material handling. 
  • Leads and develops floor layouts for installation of new product verticals. 
  • Recommends improvements or modifications for sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters. 
  • Directs strategy deployment by completing Bottleneck Analysis and Value Stream Mapping. 
  • Provides costs, labor estimates, and ROI for potential new product programs and major initiatives. 
  • Manages and conducts employee training for productivity improvement projects and mentors fellow team members during projects. 
  • Performs the following tasks on daily/weekly/monthly schedule: Safety Walk, Monday morning facility HSEQ meeting, Intelex Review, Branch Inspection, etc. 

Positional Requirements & Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. 
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. 

Skills & Abilities 

  • Strong leadership and analytical skills. 
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures engineering standards and systems. 
  • Must possess strong team, leadership, and interpersonal skills to interact with and motivate a diverse group of people. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to act with a sense of urgency. 
  • Ability to work independently or in a cross-functional environment. 
  • Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines. 
  • Clear background check within company and customer requirements. 
  • Must be able to pass drug & alcohol screening. 

Essential Physical Functions 

  • Lifting up to 25 pounds 
  • Bending, stooping, ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines
