Job Description

This position provides in-person and virtual training, technical assistance, and program support to districts and ESC staff in the areas of library services, digital learning, and technology integration, with frequent—often daily—travel across the Region 7 service area. The role supports library aides and designated staff participating in the Certified Librarian of Record (CLOR) program and the Library and Digital Media Services (LDMS) cooperative through training, collection development, inventory management, database oversight, and budget support as assigned. Responsibilities also include coordinating library activities that promote literacy, STEAM, and curricular alignment; collaborating with ESC specialists to support districts and integrate technology across content areas; and providing training on blended learning, digital resources, and cooperatively purchased platforms such as Discovery Education Experience and BrainPOP. The position additionally supports Digital Learning initiatives including eSports, Blended Learning, AI Alliance, WriteAlign, and the annual conference.


 


Qualifications:


Education/Training:



  • Master's Degree in a related field

  • Texas School Librarian (EC-12) Certification


 


Experience:



  • At least 5 years of related experience.



Knowledge/Skills:

  • Frequent (daily) regional travel; occasional statewide travel


 


Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide in-person and virtual training and technical support to library aides/designated staff participating in the Certified Librarian of Record program and the Library and Digital Media Services cooperative.
2. Manage collection development, inventory, databases, and budget (as designated) for libraries participating in the Certified Librarian of Record program.
3. Create/coordinate library activities to promote literacy, STEAM, and curricular alignment for libraries participating in the Certified Librarian of Record program.
4. Provide training and technical assistance to districts and ESC staff in support of ESC technology initiatives to promote digital literacy and technical proficiency.
5. Collaborate with ESC Specialists to help support districts and promote the integration of technology across all content areas.
6. Provide training and technical assistance to districts in support of technology integration, blended learning, and cooperatively purchased resources such as Discovery Education Experience and BrainPOP.
7. Support the facilitation of Digital Learning programs and services, including eSports, Blended Learning, AI Alliance, WriteAlign, and the annual conference.
8. Regular and reliable attendance.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Funding:
All Region 7 employees are at-will employees. Because your assignment is funded by grants, federal funding, and/or special funding, your continued employment is expressly conditioned on the availability of funding for the position. If funding becomes unavailable due to loss of state/federal funding or due to financial constraints of Region 7 ESC, your position is subject to immediate termination.
