Junior DevOps / Cloud Engineer – Systematic Commodities Hedge Fund

Moreton Capital Partners is seeking a Junior DevOps / Cloud Engineer to help build and operate the production infrastructure that powers our research and live trading systems.

We trade global commodity futures using machine learning and systematic strategies. Our entire investment process depends on reliable data, stable deployments, and robust production systems. When infrastructure breaks, trading stops.

Your job is to make sure that never happens.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will own cloud environments, deployments, monitoring, and reliability for real capital trading systems.

You will work directly with quants and developers and see your impact immediately.

What you will work on

• Cloud infrastructure supporting research, backtests, and live trading
• Reliable data pipelines ingesting futures, options, and alternative datasets
• CI/CD systems to ship models and code safely into production
• Monitoring and alerting for jobs, signals, and trading processes
• Containerized services and internal APIs
• Secure environments and permissions for researchers and traders
• Cost optimization and performance tuning across compute workloads
• Internal tooling to make developers faster and systems safer
  

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and improve AWS infrastructure (compute, storage, networking)
• Build CI/CD pipelines for research and production services
• Deploy and maintain Dockerized applications
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting across all systems
• Support scheduling/orchestration of jobs (backtests, data, signals)
• Ensure uptime, reliability, and fast recovery from failures
• Improve security, backups, and access controls
• Collaborate closely with quant devs to productionize models safely
