Yard Manager – Crete


Award-Winning Premier Service is a family-owned landscape construction and maintenance company proudly serving the Chicagoland area since the late 1980's.


We are seeking an experienced Yard Manager to oversee materials, inventory, and equipment supporting landscaping and construction operations at our Crete Branch. This role ensures materials are received, organized, and prepped for daily field operations while maintaining an efficient, safe, and organized yard.

Job Summary

  • Manage daily yard operations and inventory control
  • Coordinate material orders, deliveries, and scheduling with Operations Managers
  • Ensure materials are received, inspected, and properly staged
  • Oversee loading of job materials for daily crew dispatch
  • Maintain accurate inventory and organize yard layout for efficiency
  • Supervise yard staff and support daily operations
  • Oversee equipment use, maintenance, and safety compliance
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on material needs


Requirements

  • Experience in yard management, landscaping, construction, or similar field
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of materials and equipment used in landscaping/construction
  • Ability to operate forklifts/loaders or willingness to learn
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability


Preferred

  • CDL or equipment certifications
  • OSHA certification
  • Inventory management system experience


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extended periods of standing, walking, and work outdoors regularly
  • Ability to use a computer and mobile device for extended periods
  • Occasional stooping, bending, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
