Job Overview
- Primary responsibility is to keep all facilities equipment, production equipment and the building in safe and working order
- To troubleshoot, maintain, repair and/or replace (whole or in part) all equipment, machinery, apparatus, electronic components and electrical systems so that the production of quality goods is uninterrupted or with minimal down time
- Interacts with plant management and production supervisors
Primary Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot electrical problems
- Provide preventive, predictive and repair maintenance
- Install equipment as directed
- Immediately reports electrical or equipment problems to plant manager or maintenance supervisor
- Ensures that maintenance to all electrical equipment is completed and complies with customer specifications, and ensures that food safety and quality are not jeopardized by complying with all GMP and HAACP Guidelines as well as SOPs
Specific Experience and Key Knowledge Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Journeyman experience or the completion of an apprenticeship program or 4 years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment is essential
- Must have prior experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and electronic equipment
- Must be familiar with troubleshooting and programming techniques for plc's, electromechanical sensors and controllers
- Thorough knowledge of automated machinery operations, pump theory, pneumatic principles, hydraulic principles, applications and repair is required
- Must have experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics and be able to work safely with low and high voltage circuits
- Basic knowledge of typical facility and manufacturing support systems, including steam, hot water, compressed air and refrigeration systems is needed
- A solid electrical background is highly desired
- Performs all functions in a safe and cautious manner
- Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
- Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
- Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
- Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
