Position Details

• Employment Type: Full-time (30+ hours per week)


• Schedule: 12:30pm – 8:30pm, with every other weekend required


• Pay: $13.50 – $17.50 (up to $20.50 for opt-out benefit and shift differential)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the cook with meal preparation and service


• Prepare beverages, cereals, breads, salads, and desserts according to menu plans and dietary needs


• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all dietary areas, including dishwashing and storage


• Set up carts, dining areas, and staff dining room for meal service


• Follow oral and written instructions, including recipes and meal orders


• Handle and store food safely, label and date leftovers, and replenish supplies


• Attend training classes and implement new skills as needed


• Interact positively with residents, family members, and staff


• Follow all health, safety, and facility policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Some high school coursework, diploma, or GED preferred


• Experience in food service is a plus but not required – we provide on-the-job training!


• Ability to read and follow recipes and instructions with attention to detail


• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 75 lbs), and perform cleaning duties


• Patience, compassion, and a desire to serve the elderly community


• Ability to work in varying temperatures and with cleaning chemicals


• Must be free from infectious diseases
