General Summary
The primary responsibilities of the Cashier position are to maintain helpful customer service, process sales quickly, accurately and efficiently run POS operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The major responsibilities for this position included:
• Ensure each customer receives outstanding service
• Greet customers as they enter the store
• Answer the phone with: “Good morning/afternoon, thank you for calling O’Donnell Ace Hardware, Bob
speaking, how can I help you?
• Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers
• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
• Accurately and efficiently ring on POS and maintain all cash at the POS
• Maintain orderly appearance of POS area and supplies stocked
• Ensure that merchandise displays in the front-end area are clean, organized and well-stocked
• Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store management
• Solicit customers to sign up for an Ace Rewards Card
• Issuing receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
• Call for back up cashier when 3 or more customers are in line
• Participate in all store training programs
Other Essential Requirements
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the store.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking and lifting (up to 25lbs).
