Hackensack Care ’n Share is seeking a passionate Thrift Store Manager to oversee and lead our thrift store operations in Hackensack, Minnesota. This position will focus on fostering a positive volunteer environment, ensuring smooth daily operations, and providing a high level of customer service. The Thrift Store Manager plays a vital role in our mission to support the community through affordable merchandise and charitable donations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Volunteer Coordination

    • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers.

    • Promote teamwork and a positive environment.

  • Store Operations

    • Manage daily opening and closing procedures, including cash handling.

    • Coordinate merchandise display, restocking, and product rotation.

    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment.

  • Donations Management

    • Oversee acceptance, sorting, and pricing of donations.

    • Provide donation receipts and ensure accuracy in record-keeping.

  • Financial & Administrative Duties

    • Process sales transactions and balance daily receipts.

    • Track inventory and maintain sales reports.

    • Adhere to the store’s budget and expenses.

  • Community Engagement

    • Serve as the primary contact for customers, donors, and community partners.

    • Develop promotional strategies to increase store visibility.

    • Represent Hackensack Care ’n Share at local events and outreach opportunities.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent (strongly preferred).

    • Retail management or supervisory experience (preferred).

    • Experience coordinating volunteers or staff (a plus).

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications.

    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Physical & Other Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and move donations (light to moderate lifting).

    • Flexible schedule, including some weekends.

    • Commitment to community engagement and service.
