Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee all daily accounting operations using Sage, including General Ledger, AP/AR, Cash Management.

  • Month-End & Audit: Execute a flawless month-end close process in coordination with MCP Shared Services. Lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Technology & Digital Strategy

  • Systems Expertise: Serve as the super-user and strategic lead for the resort’s financial technology stack. You must drive data integrity across Siriusware (POS) and Sage (ERP) to ensure accurate reporting.

  • Data Visualization: Leverage Looker to create dashboards that track daily revenue performance, labor stats, and operational metrics.

  • Collaboration Tools: Champion the use of Google Suite (Sheets, Drive, Docs) to streamline collaboration between the Finance team and mountain operations.

Investment & Growth Planning (Real Estate & Capital)

  • Capital Tracking & Management: Own the lifecycle of resort capital planning. Track all real estate and mountain improvement projects from approval to capitalization, ensuring projects stay on budget and ROI is monitored.

  • Debt & Asset Management: Manage local debt schedules and ensure compliance with covenants. Oversee fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules for complex mountain and village assets.

Financial & Compliance Risk Management

  • Insurance Liaison: Partner with MCP shared resources and Risk Management to oversee all financial aspects of the resort’s insurance portfolio and analyze trends to reduce premiums and manage deductibles effectively.

  • Internal Controls: Maintain and test a robust system of internal controls to safeguard resort assets, specifically regarding cash handling in high-volume outlets (F&B, Retail, Ticket Office).

Capital Sourcing and Strategy

  • Develop Capital Strategy: Formulate and execute a long-term capital structure strategy that supports company growth and financing options.

  • Sourcing Funding: Identify, evaluate, and secure new capital in conjunction with MCP finance.

  • Funding Partner Relations: Act as the primary liaison for Purgatory with banks and financing partners to maintain trust and transparency.

Finance Team Leadership & Development

  • Team Builder: Lead, mentor, and develop the Purgatory accounting team. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and customer service.

  • Cross-Departmental Training: Act as an educator, training non-financial department heads on budget management and P&L literacy to build a financially savvy leadership team.
