Position Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor (PRN) supports the daily operations of Environmental Services to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role provides leadership and oversight to housekeeping staff, ensuring compliance with infection control standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies.

This is a PRN (as-needed) position, offering flexibility to support coverage needs including weekends, holidays, and peak operational times.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations across assigned areas
  • Ensure all patient rooms, common areas, and clinical spaces meet cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Monitor staff performance and provide real-time guidance and support
  • Assist with staff scheduling and coverage as needed
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
  • Train and onboard new housekeeping team members
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; coordinate restocking as needed
  • Collaborate with nursing and leadership teams to ensure patient care environments meet expectations
  • Respond to urgent cleaning needs and special projects in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare or residential setting
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and cleaning protocols
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
