Position Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor (PRN) supports the daily operations of Environmental Services to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role provides leadership and oversight to housekeeping staff, ensuring compliance with infection control standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies.
This is a PRN (as-needed) position, offering flexibility to support coverage needs including weekends, holidays, and peak operational times.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations across assigned areas
- Ensure all patient rooms, common areas, and clinical spaces meet cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Monitor staff performance and provide real-time guidance and support
- Assist with staff scheduling and coverage as needed
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Train and onboard new housekeeping team members
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; coordinate restocking as needed
- Collaborate with nursing and leadership teams to ensure patient care environments meet expectations
- Respond to urgent cleaning needs and special projects in a timely manner
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare or residential setting
- Previous supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of infection control standards and cleaning protocols
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
