Assembly Technician – Custom Automation Systems
 
Cincinnati Test Systems (CTS) is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to support the build and assembly of custom automated test and measurement equipment, with a primary focus on advanced leak test machinery.
 
CTS is a recognized industry leader in the design and manufacture of custom automated systems for demanding production environments. This role plays a critical hands-on part in assembling complex industrial machinery, wiring control panels, integrating pneumatic systems, and preparing equipment for customer delivery.
 
This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys building custom machinery from drawings, working with tools, and contributing to high-quality automation systems deployed globally.
 
What You’ll Do
Control Panel Wiring
  • Perform basic wiring using blueprint drawings
  • Complete layout and wiring of control panels
  • Wire and plumb pneumatic systems
Machine Assembly
  • Assemble machine frames using power and hand tools
  • Perform minor tooling assembly, including drilling and tapping
  • Fabricate and install machine guarding
  • Support mechanical and pneumatic integration of custom equipment
System Preparation & Delivery
  • Disassemble machines for shipment under direction of team lead
  • Crate machines for safe delivery
  • Assist with final build verification prior to shipment
Team & Workplace Contribution
  • Work collaboratively as a team contributor
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Perform additional duties as required or assigned
  • Obtain forklift and crane lift certification (provided after hire)
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • 1–2 years of related work experience OR an appropriate combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency with power and hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprint drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based build environment
Preferred Experience
  • Electronic / Trade School certificate or higher education in electronics or mechanical systems
  • Experience with pneumatic systems
  • Experience assembling industrial machinery or custom automation systems
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent stooping, crouching, and ability to work in tight spaces
  • Exposure to live electrical wiring during assembly activities
