Primary Duties and Responsibilities
This position provides support to the Office of Stewardship team and University Advancement division. Our mission is to engage parents, alumni and friends, inspire philanthropic support and promote the transformative mission of Belmont University. Stewardship involves managing gifts as donors intended, showing appreciation to donors for their gifts, and demonstrating the joyful impact of their philanthropy. The Office of Stewardship student worker can expect to engage in the following tasks: Assist with writing and editing event materials, stewardship communications, donor acknowledgement notes and honorarium and memorial letters. This position works flexible hours, Monday-Friday from 8 AM-4:30 PM. It is suggested student workers commit to at least 10 hours per week. They will work with their supervisor to create their work schedule.
Support researching and auditing the accuracy of data related to donor contact information, donor intent and donor gift processing.
Collaborate with team on designing and implementing impactful print and digital communications for donors like reports and videos.
Provide event support for small, medium and large-scale donor events, including managing RSVP lists, creating nametags, gathering program details and brainstorming speaker scripts. Event follow-up is an important part of our work and includes sending surveys, photos and thank you notes. Events served include Christmas at Belmont, Sounds of Belmont, Donor Tribute Dinner, Tennessee Health Care Hall of Fame and donor receptions.
Occasional lifting is required, but it is always a team effort.
Occasionally, donor events are held during evenings or on the weekends, and student workers are asked if they are available to offer their support.
| Required Qualifications | Required Qualifications: Searching for students who are friendly, dependable, detail orientated, and service orientated. A basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word is required. A basic understanding of Canva is desired. The ideal candidate is dependable, prompt, enthusiastic and self-motivated. They will take initiative in completing tasks and desire to build/grow their skills. They should also be able to easily work both individually and as part of a team and have a strong work ethic. | Required Education | Must be enrolled as a student at Belmont University, preferably Federal Work Study. All Majors are encouraged to apply, if interested. |
| Required Experience | Reception, office experience and/or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Experience with writing, editing and designing is desired. Any work experience, whether paid or voluntary, is acceptable. |
