Description

 Job Summary:

The Cherry Picker Operator plays a vital role in Olympus’s production and warehouse operations by safely and efficiently operating a motorized lift to pick, move, and prepare inventory for shipment. This position ensures accurate order fulfillment, restocking, and overall inventory organization while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to Olympus’s safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Order Fulfillment: Operate cherry picker equipment to accurately locate, retrieve, and select products from high shelves to complete customer and production orders.
  • Inventory Management: Restock inventory, perform routine product checks, and verify accuracy using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
  • Shipping & Receiving: Assist in packaging, labeling, and preparing goods for outbound shipment; support loading and unloading trucks as needed.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate cherry pickers, pallet jacks (manual/electric), and other warehouse machinery in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Conduct daily equipment inspections, report maintenance issues promptly, and follow all company safety policies, including proper use of harnesses and protective gear.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with production and warehouse teams to maintain workflow efficiency, meet deadlines, and achieve department goals.
Requirements

  Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience operating a cherry picker, forklift, or similar warehouse equipment.
  • Valid OSHA certification (preferred); training may be provided.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when picking and verifying orders.
  • Excellent hand–eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate clearly with team members.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safety-first mindset at all times.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
  • Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet while secured in a harness.
  • Must have good vision and depth perception to safely maneuver equipment and identify products.
  • Tolerance for varying temperatures and warehouse noise levels.

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Fast-paced, physically active setting with frequent lifting, climbing, and movement.
  • May require flexible scheduling (including nights, weekends, or overtime).
  • Mandatory adherence to Olympus’s safety standards and PPE requirements at all times.
