Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Assistant to support our General Education program. This full-time position involves working closely with teachers and students to enhance the learning environment and ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for education, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse classroom setting.

Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of instructional materials and activities.
- Support individual and small group instruction to reinforce learning concepts and skills.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and behavior.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Assist in the management of classroom behavior and implement behavior management strategies as needed.
- Prepare and organize classroom materials, supplies, and equipment for lessons and activities.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including grading assignments and maintaining student records.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with special education staff to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a supportive school community.

Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in Education, Child Development, or pass the para-educator praxis.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to various classroom dynamics.
- Understanding of child development principles and effective instructional strategies.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support student learning and growth.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction.
- Ability to lift and assist students as needed, including those with physical disabilities.
- Must pass background checks and any required state or district certifications.
