PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Maximize revenue and exposure for all available meeting space in the Hotel and banquet space.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Account prospecting, solicitation, and development via telephone, personal contact, outside calls, correspondence, email and other means of communication. Conduct outlet site inspections, entertain both in-house and off property, and maintain accounts thorough follow up methods.
- Participate in marketing of meeting space for the hotel and restaurant utilizing Open Table, contracted public relations firms and other sources available.
- Represent outlets at public events to promote the restaurant and the hotel.
- Prepare and present proposals and contracts both written and verbal in a prompt, accurate, profitable, pleasant and professional manner using Proposal Path and CAST.
- Detail all events booked.
- Monthly forecasting of estimated food/beverage revenue.
- Ensure all proper billing has been established for each event.
- Meet, greet and hand-off client to Restaurant Management/staff and/or Banquet Manager at beginning of event.
- Update website and other internet sites as needed with current special events information.
- Establish and maintain a top client list for events booked.
- Assist as needed with any special events to promote the ChopHouse.
- Maintain a current database of competition’s private dining rooms including, but not limited to menus, layouts, regulations and managers.
- Attend meetings including, but not limited to, pre-convention, business review, pre-shift, BEO, departmental.
- Maintain guest room blocks that are booked in conjunction with a catered event.
- Other duties as assigned.
MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexibility to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
- Provide site tours of the Outlets.
- Knowledge of competitive set.
- Conduct Competition Surveys.
- Proficient knowledge of Cast and Open Table reservation systems as well as general Windows based operations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Basic mathematical skills to prepare proposals.
- Ability to effectively network and market the Hilton Madison and all Outlets.
- Ability to work independently.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Previous high-end/fine dining restaurant management experience preferred.
- Previous hotel experience preferred.
- Previous banquet experience preferred.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong multiple project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently to interact with clients.
- Ability to analyze client needs and negotiate pricing.
- Ability to work under time pressures and extensive hours.
- Proper business etiquette through all communication channels.
