    Provide assistance to Head Coach in training student athletes who participate in the program and administering to the program as required by Head Coach, the MHS administration, and MCUD#6.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Meets State Requirements for Coaching. 2. Employment as a teacher and/or possessing such qualifications for coaching as established by the Illinois High School Association. 3. Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the tasks listed. 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

    Knowledge of and ability to implement the subject matter, philosophical, social, and educational concepts relative to the duties and responsibilities listed on this job description.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Coach's individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.

    1. Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
    2. Works closely with other coaches and/or principals in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.
    3. Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate.
    4. Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, evidence of physical examination and similar paperwork.
    5. Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted at all times those students is present.
    6. Aids in establishment of performance criteria for interscholastic competition in his sport.
    7. Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
    8. Participates annual IHSA sponsored rules interpretation meeting for their individual sport(s). To abide by IHSA by-laws, at least one coach form each sport must attend rules interpretation meetings.
    9. Attend additional meetings when specifically requested by the Athletic Director and/or Principal.
    10. Bring recommendation for volunteers and assistants to the Athletic Director, Principal and Board of Education for approval.
    11. Work collaboratively with other coaches to provide student with opportunities for physical conditioning outside of the season, including summer conditioning and workouts.
    12. Work collaboratively with administration to support the program while at the same time controlling District expenses.
    13. Is responsible for student supervision and safety before and after all activities and events both home and away.
