Job Description

 

The Junior Accountant position is responsible to coordinate the processing of Accounts Payable activities along with general accounting activities to support the properly accounting of activities at KTG.

 

REPORTING

 

The Junior Accountant position reports to the Controller.

 

Accountabilities

 

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management

·         Process and reconcile supplier invoices by matching purchase orders, receiving documentation, and invoice details in SAP

·         Ensure timely, accurate payments to vendors in compliance with company policies

·         Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, mathematical accuracy, tax treatment, and contract terms

·         Monitor and resolve unmatched invoices, open purchase orders, and GR/IR balances

·         Maintain accurate vendor master data and respond to vendor and internal inquiries professionally

 

General Accounting & Month-End Close

  • Prepare and maintain monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review monthly operating expenses to ensure all required accruals are recorded
  • Partner with cost center owners to identify outstanding goods receipts and prepare accrual listings
  • Support monthly cost review meetings with administrative cost center leaders

 

Audit, Compliance & Controls

  • Coordinate internal and external audit requests, including bi‑annual audit cycles
  • Support fixed asset inventory counts per internal audit schedules
  • Assist with maintaining compliance to internal controls, financial authority policies, and audit requirements
  • Prepare annual 1099 filings for applicable vendors

 

Cash Forecasting & Financial Support

  • Assist with bi‑weekly cash forecasting related to vendor payments
  • Support other accounting functions (e.g., payroll or special projects) as business needs evolve

 

 

 

 

Environmental & Corporate Responsibility

  • Adhere to Kruger Products’ environmental policies and procedures
  • Report environmental incidents or potential hazards in accordance with company and legal requirements

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • HS Diploma/GED required with a preference for a Associates Degree in Business/Commerce, Finance or Accounting
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant accounting and business experience
  • Accounting concepts and financial compliance requirements
  • Experience utilizing Excel and a large financial system(s), knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Auditing experience is preferred, and a strong knowledge of internal controls
  • Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Understand manufacturing operations, computer systems and product cost
  • Plan and organize your own work activities, manage work time efficiently, work independently
  • To have proven complex analytical skills as well as ability to develop sound recommendations and solutions
  • Partner with managers and employees to positively impact business results
  • Demonstrated accountability and responsibility for independent judgment and successful outcomes
  • Implement and maintain effective financial policies and practices in a large manufacturing business
  • Office procedures, methods, including computers and applicable CMMS, Microsoft Office and other applicable software and databases
  • Consistent track record for executing performance objectives an delivering results
  • Key Competencies including: candor/integrity, influencing & building partnerships, team work, accountability, problem solving, and customer focus
