Job Description

Position: Head Unified Basketball Coach (SY 26-27) (Stipend)


Department: Athletics 


Reports to: Director of Athletics              


Affiliation: Unit A, Section F


Salary range: $2,421 stipend


Time Commitment:



  • Four days a week.

  • Ten to fifteen hours a week.

  • One game a week.

  • 9/14/2026 – 11/6/2026


 


This is a stipend position.


 


SUMMARY


The Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding Head Unified Basketball Coach to coach the unified basketball team for the 2024-2025 school year. WPS is dedicated to excellence, equity, and community. Be a part of creating a bright future for WPS students. 


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Planning all areas of their team.

  • The head coach will lead and assist their coaching staff in coordinating efforts under one program goal and ensuring compliance with rules at all levels.

  • Analyze the Game strategy.

  • Implementation of skill development.

  • Coverage on bus trips.

  • Video analysis of games.

  • Statistical analysis of games.

  • Attend all league, local, district, and state meetings when necessary.

  • Reaching out to local Youth Groups to promote their respective sport in town.

  • Planning award ceremonies and individual award winners.


 


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • CPR certified.

  • NFHS concussion course completed.


 


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • A degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience coaching Basketball. 

  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
