Provide strategic and transformational leadership for all aspects of information systems and lead the underlying systems that support an engineering organization as well. The CIO will balance a broad technology agenda that includes responsibility for implementing SAP and new technologies to improve business processes, and increase return on investment while managing the daily IT operations. This role will foster open communication and active collaboration within and across IT, engineering and the business, while exploring ways to improve the business impact and IT-based processes. Will have global oversight for IT operations in the North America, Europe and India regions and will oversee cybersecurity and IT operations for the global organization.
Responsibilities
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Lead the IT strategic planning efforts, specifically around application and infrastructure transformation, ensuring that programs and initiatives align to enterprise objectives and strategies.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to recommend a technical vision and strategy for the company and technological developments in support of that vision and strategy.
- Leverage and collaborate with the global functions to discover new processes, system trends, hardware and applications that will help solve key business problems. Ensure business strategy is followed with compliance to standards by adopting the right technology at the right time.
- Global leader for Cybersecurity and Infrastructure. Manage global contract negotiations and solution directions, ensuring effective collaboration with key decision-makers. Pair infrastructure and cyber operations to enhance security and efficiency across all regions
- Align the strategic direction and operational management of global infrastructure, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regional requirements. Collaborate closely with regional CIOs and global IT leadership to drive global initiatives and optimize infrastructure performance
- Oversee IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity for locations in Europe, in addition to the USA and Mexico, ensuring alignment with global standards and practices
- Successfully deliver ongoing and future projects, such as SAP, cloud adoption and SaaS systems.
- Serve as the organization’s technology thought leader, and ensure the company has a complete integrated global process, systems strategy and roadmap. Act as advisor to internal customers at all levels by evaluating and identifying appropriate technology platforms to deliver on the organization’s objectives. Communicate to leadership consistent program messages, plans and directions.
- Establish IT departmental goals, objectives and operating procedures, adjusting IT standards and technologies to meet a changing technical landscape. Help remove barriers and resolve resource problems, and assist in change management across the organization.
- Attract, develop and retain talented people, coaching for success, feeding robust succession plans and contributing to the overall global IT talent pool.
- Work closely with the business and engineering organization to execute the portfolio of projects, in addition to jointly creating an implementation strategy that supports the business goals. Effectively communicate the strategy to business leaders and senior management.
MUST-HAVES:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required; a graduate degree is preferred, but is not required.
- Twenty-plus years of IT experience, with significant background in manufacturing environments.
- A track record of leading the implementation of ERP systems globally, specifically SAP.
- Experience leading a team of 50 professionals.
- Experience in linking processes across back-office functions, as well as partnering across supply chain, manufacturing and engineering groups.
