Job Description

Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our team as a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher at Lakeview North High School. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in family and consumer sciences. This is a full-time position that requires a commitment to student success and a willingness to work collaboratively with other faculty members.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and national standards for family and consumer sciences education
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes student learning and success
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in family and consumer sciences education
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other pertinent information
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Participate in school-wide events and activities as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in family and consumer sciences education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in family and consumer sciences or the ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe
- Strong knowledge of family and consumer sciences content and pedagogy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and staff
- Commitment to student success and a willingness to go above and beyond to support student learning
- Ability to use technology effectively in the classroom
- Strong organizational and time management skills
