Job Description

Content & Editorial Lead – Contiki – Sydney 

As Contiki's Content & Editorial Lead, you'll be the voice behind the stories that inspire 18–35s to break out of their routines and actually go somewhere. You'll shape everything from scroll-stopping social captions to deep editorial features, while owning our Six-Two platform and helping turn it into one of the best youth travel and culture destinations on the internet.

This is a creative role with real responsibility. You'll set the editorial standard, own the strategy, and make sure every word we publish is bold, on-brand, and worth someone's time.

What you’ll do:

  • Create across everything — editorial, web, social, CRM, paid, and video. From long-form to scroll-stopping headlines, making work that earns attention, flexing between hands-on writing and partnering with agencies to bring ideas to life.
  • Own Six-Two — lead the editorial calendar, commission and edit content for a global Gen Z audience, and build formats and series that keep people coming back. Not just a blog. A full multi-media destination.
  • Drive strategy — collaborate with social, SEO, CRM, creative, and agency partners to deliver integrated content across the full funnel, from first discovery through to booking.
  • Be the editorial guardian — own Contiki's tone of voice, maintain editorial guidelines, and set the bar for everything we publish. Brief and manage freelancers. Edit with high standards.
  • Optimise constantly — track performance across engagement, search, and conversion. Use the data to sharpen topics, formats, and output.
  • Support PR and brand storytelling — partner with PR teams and agencies on global narratives, press angles, and earned media moments to keep our voice consistent everywhere it shows up. 

What we’re looking for:

  • 4–6 years in editorial, brand content, or copywriting (travel, youth, or digital-first brands ideal)
  • A portfolio that shows range: long-form, short-form, witty headlines, persuasive copy
  • Solid understanding of SEO, content performance, and social search
  • CMS experience (WordPress, Contentful) and comfort with tools like Asana or Monday
  • Experience across multi-format content (e.g. video, podcasts, social formats) is a plus
  • Sharp editorial eye, high standards, and genuine attention to detail
  • Passion for youth culture, digital trends, and travel
