This is a Hybrid position.
Compensation: Commission
What You Will Do:
The Used Car Buyer oversees inventory readiness, reconditioning workflows, and internal coordination. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify and acquire quality used vehicles through various channels, including private party, auctions, service appointments, and customer database.
- Oversee the reconditioning process for purchased vehicles.
- Review and approve or deny requested work on Used Vehicle Inspection (UVI) reports.
- Conduct thorough VIN inspections and ensure accurate documentation.
- Verify accuracy of online vehicle listings, features, and specifications.
- Maintain accurate physical inventory and assist with flooring audits as needed.
- Code and process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
- Purchase and pick up parts as needed.
- Coordinate vehicle and parts transport with dealers and vendors.
- Travel to dealerships and auctions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1 year Used Car Buyer experience required.
- Familiarity with VAuto, CARFAX, KBB, Stockwave, QuickVin, and other appraisal tools highly preferred.
- Valid Auction Access Membership Preferred (we can assist with providing if necessary).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles preferred.
- Well rounded vehicle knowledge & a nose for value.
- Self-starter mentality and ambitious spirit.
- Ready to waste no time on learning new product ins and outs, eager to improve.
- Phenomenal communication skills with customers and team members.
- Professional, well-groomed personal appearance.
