Senior Engineering Technician

The Senior Engineering
Technician is well versed in micro-electronic assembly techniques and equipment,
playing a key role in prototyping new products and documenting assembly process
for release to production.  This role
will focus on high-speed electrical assembly of die level components that
operate at frequencies up to 110 GHz.

Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Assembly of optical receiver and transmitter prototypes
  • Organization of engineering component inventory for prototype builds
  • Engineering documentation to maintain history of prototype variants
  • Initial production assembly documentation for release of new products to manufacturing
  • Trouble-shooting build issues with released products in manufacturing
  • Utilize technical knowledge and experience to develop a thorough understanding of MACOM production parts theory-of-operation, along with the manufacturing processes used to produce them.
  • Work independently as self-starter with minimal supervision, assuming ownership for assigned tasks
    Strictly follow all MACOM safety protocols, and all procedures for safeguarding and handling of products.

Skills:

  • Well versed in RF/microwave micro-electronic assembly
  • Familiar with automated and manual die bonding and wirebonding equipment
  • Creative thinking and problem solving skills for laying out prototype designs
  • Organizational mindset for keeping track of parts and prototypes
  • Familiarity with fiber-optics, lasers, and photodiodes a plus

Education:

  • 8+ years
    experience in an electronic assembly technical role, OR;
  • Associate
    degree (or equivalent) in a related technical field and 5+ years’ experience in
    an electronic assembly technical role, OR;
  • Bachelor’s
    degree in a related technical field and 2+ year experience in an electronic
    assembly technical role
  • Fluent skills in Microsoft Office.  Autocad/Drafting experience a plus
