Description

The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for preparing food items for service, including slicing, cutting, heating, plating, and re-filling. The Kitchen Assistant will work with other team members and supervisors to ensure that events run smoothly and efficiently. 

RESPONSIBILITIES Other responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

  • Set up kitchen equipment, including tables, tablecloths, crescors, trash cans, and other event equipment 

  • Assists with food preparation, including chopping/slicing vegetables, meat, and cheese, and re-heating food items to the appropriate temperature 

  • Assist with food service tasks, including plating and serving dishes, and ensuring that all food is presented following company standards 

  • Breakdown kitchen equipment, including tables, crescors, trash/recycling, and other event equipment, and ensuring everything is returned to its correct container/area 

  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, cleanliness, and guest service 

  • Performs other duties associated with the position that are reasonably assigned to support the overall needs of the business 

Qualifications


  • Previous experience as a kitchen assistant, or related field preferred 

  • Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment 

  • Good knife skills are required 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously 

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time 

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as tables, trays of food, and boxes of equipment 

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
