The Manager, Accounting oversees the month-end close process as well as audit and tax activities for the company. This role supports the broader finance organization through timely reporting, continuous improvement, technical expertise, and leadership.

 

1. Oversee the accounting month-end close, including reviewing journal entries, reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement review (50%)
2. Oversee the annual financial statement audit (10%)
3. Act as an administrator for key financial systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics D365, FloQast, Avalara, ADP, lease tool) (10%)
4. Oversee outside tax firm activities including income tax, special credits, and sales and use tax (20%)
5. Manage, coach, and develop a team of staff and senior accountants (10%)
6. Document policies, processes, and technical memos as needed
7. Assist and/or lead accounting transformation initiatives involving systems, consolidations, foreign exchange, intercompany, close optimization, etc.
8. Assist Compliance with annual financial reporting related to company licensing
9. Work cross-functionally with leadership and key stakeholders such as Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Accounting Systems, Client Accounting, Compliance, etc.)
10. Research accounting guidance and provide plain language findings
11. Ensure timely preparation of supportable and accurate financial statement records
