Job Description

Occupational Summary:




  • The detailer cleans and refurbishes new, used, and customer vehicles.


  • In addition to the responsibilities of a detailer, the Detail Team Leader is responsible for, in the absence of the Manager, opening and closing repair orders, inspecting completed details for quality, maintain Tekion and the delivery board, delegate work and keep shop productivity flowing and verify that the shop is clean, supplies refilled and department is secure at close of business.



  • The Detail Team Leader must maintain a clear and open line of communication with the Service Manager as well as assist manager in mentoring new hires

  • As a detailer you are responsible for performing appearance preparation and reconditioning of all new and used cars for retail delivery and/or inventory, cleaning customer service vehicles following repairs and any other tasks as may be assigned by Manager



 



Essential Job Functions:




  • Wash vehicle exterior using cleaning solutions, water, cloths, and brushes

  • Vacuum interior of vehicles.

  • Clean upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agent's applicators, and cleaning devices.

  • Apply revitalizing and preservation agents to vinyl or leather surfaces and treat fabrics with spot and stain-resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components.

  • Take pictures of completed used vehicles and upload them to the website

  • Responsible for flagging and closing repair orders



 



Schedule: Full-time

This position is a 3-day shift, 7:30am until 9:00pm, that rotates every 4 weeks.

Mon/Tues/Wed for 4 weeks, then Thurs/Fri/Sat for 4 weeks)



 



Pay Rate:




  • Detailers are paid on a flat-rate system which means you are paid a higher hourly flat rate, than a general Detailer, and are paid based on each job that is completed, not how long you physically worked. For example, if the estimated job is estimated to take three hours and you complete the job in two, you still earn three hours' worth of pay, which rewards efficiency. Flat rate often leads to higher earnings, if efficient at your job.
