Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern at Frazer reports to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Director and supports production and engineering teams by assisting in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes. This role provides hands-on experience in identifying inefficiencies, developing tooling and documentation, and contributing to initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
This position is expected to actively live out Frazer Core Values while working with Frazer employees, vendors, and customers to help achieve team, department, and corporate goals. Responsible for learning and reinforcing safe and proper work procedures while actively following Frazer Safety programs and other policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
What Does a Week in the Life of the Manufacturing Engineer Intern Look Like?
Assists in analyzing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in quality, efficiency, and cost.
Supports the design and development of basic production tools, fixtures, and process improvements under supervision.
Provides day-to-day support to production operations, assisting in troubleshooting equipment and process issues across fabrication and assembly areas.
Assists with industrial automation efforts, including observation, basic programming support, and documentation of robotic or automated systems.
Supports MES/ERP data entry and maintenance, including routings, work instructions, and production tracking.
Helps maintain process documentation, including CAD layouts, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
Participates in root cause analysis and corrective action activities with engineering and production teams.
Ensures adherence to safety standards and assists in promoting a safe working environment.
Secondary Duties:
Participates in design and process review meetings with engineering and quality teams.
Assists with cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects through data collection and analysis.

Required Education and Experience:
? Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
? Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
? Exposure to CAD software through coursework or projects
Preferred Education and Experience:
? Internship or project experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
? Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts
? Familiarity with ERP/MES systems (academic or practical exposure)
? Basic understanding of metal fabrication processes such as laser cutting, forming, or welding

Of course, we didn't forget the salary… Frazer offers competitive pay and this role will start at $18.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on education, experience, and qualifications.
Work Schedule
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will work Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Friday 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Occasional evening/weekend work may be needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
