Medical Technologist (PRN)
Stonewall Memorial Hospital District has been dedicated to providing compassionate healthcare to our community since 1965. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our laboratory team on a PRN basis, offering flexible coverage to support our laboratory operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex laboratory tests and analyses accurately and efficiently to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and quality control of laboratory equipment.
- Follow established protocols and safety procedures to maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
- Document test results accurately and communicate findings to medical staff in a timely manner.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and implementing process improvements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory work areas.
- Collect and process patient specimens following established protocols.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Document and communicate test results promptly and accurately.
- Comply with all regulatory standards, including CLIA and CAP requirements.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred.
- Proven experience performing laboratory tests in a clinical setting.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally for equipment or supply handling.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and quality assurance procedures.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
