Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Underwriter / Underwriter in our A&H team in Italy. 

Reporting to the Italian Head of A&H and operating in alignment with the A&H Continental Europe underwriting strategy, the Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business, including Multinational A&H programmes.

The role will also involve active participation in portfolio management activities and new product development initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement and profitability of the A&H portfolio.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support positioning as an increasingly important player in the local A&H market

  • Assist in the optimization of the A&H portfolio

  • Contribute to the development of the local underwriting strategy

  • Establish and strengthen relationships with key brokers

  • Solicit business opportunities

  • Support the development of A&H products

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of professional experience

  • Proven track record in underwriting profitable businesses

  • Excellent networking and relationships skills with clients and brokers

  • Sound knowledge of the local A&H market

  • Proven and in‑depth experience in underwriting Private Medical Insurance policies and/or multinational insurance programmes, considered an essential requirement to successfully perform the role with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
