Further expectations include the ability to provide strategic legal advice, while anticipating and identifying risks in all other property related matters, including zoning, land use, compliance and disputes.,

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Support and advise cross-functional teams in the negotiation and review of contracts that balance legal risk with business objectives.

  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of real estate and other business contracts and agreements with customers, vendors, and other outside parties.

  • Experience supporting acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and other transactional matters affecting real estate.

  • Conduct legal research and apply research to business objectives and communicate the analysis in an easily understood work product.

  • Organize and maintain legal libraries, documents, and case files.

  • Participate in the development of policies, procedures and programs and provide guidance on legal matters.

  • Understand business objectives and help identify and balance legal risks under tight deadlines.

  • Prepare and deliver memorandums and presentations on legal matters.

  • Negotiate with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes.

  • Assist with transaction due diligence efforts and participate in post-closing activities and disputes.

  • Monitor contract performance and compliance.

  • Drive the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes.

  • Maintain expertise concerning the impacts to the business regarding changes in the legal landscape.

  • Proactively anticipate potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Work with outside legal counsel and orchestrate legal processes on behalf of the company.

  • Manage external legal advisors to maintain high levels of quality and low cost.

  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
