Description

Job Focus: Supports the College Mission and serves students, employers, and the college community by providing excellent customer service for all customer needs and purchases. The specialist will assist in ordering, receiving, and pricing, Additionally, the person in this position maintains accurate records regarding all aspects associated with supplies and inventory. Position requires some heavy lifting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Positive communication skills with the ability to foster a positive environment. Ability to effectively respond to questions from students, parents, supervisors, partners, and the general public
2. Cash Management skills
3. Ability to devise or modify methods or processes to solve specific problems
4. Knowledge of or be willing to learn and operate a cash register
5. General accounting knowledge 


Essential Duties and Performance Standards: 
1. Provides excellent customer service for all customer needs and purchases
2. Responsible for ordering store supplies and inventory.
3. Operate a Point of Sale register and card machine.
4. Completes necessary price revisions on current inventory.
5. Able to count and make change.
6. Coordinates the processing of invoices for orders received.
7. Coordinates the re-pricing of inventory. 
8. Responsible for opening and or closing the store.
9. Inputs data electronically to be used for the ordering of supplies and inventory.
10. Lifting of heavy boxes in receiving and placing inventory.
11. Run end of shift report and close out register.
12. Run end of day repots and close of day reports.
13. Daily cleaning of machines.
14. Monthly deep clean of coffee, cappuccino and hot chocolate and fountain machines.
15. Sweep and mop floors.
16. Encourage and exemplify professionalism and good work habits
17. Assist the registrar with front desk duties, as necessary.
18. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

This is a non-benefited position.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Two years relevant work experience, which would demonstrate the ability to work successfully in the store.
2. Strong customer service, teamwork, technology, multitasking, and organizational skills
3. Detail oriented with ability to work independently
4. Proficient computer skills
5. Must successfully pass criminal background check
6. Valid driver’s license


Preferred:
1. Associate degree and/or previous retail and accounting experience.

 

Work Location: Vernal Campus

Work Schedule: Hours may vary, no more than 29 hours per week. The store is open Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 3:30pm, Friday from 9:00am to Noon. Typical schedule is a 5 to 6 hour shift Monday to Thursday with the rotating Fridays.
