SB 848 COMPLIANCE – EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026
Effective January 1, 2026, and in accordance with California Education Code Section 44051(a)(1), any
applicant for a non-teaching position must disclose a complete list of every school district, county office
of education, charter school, state special school and diagnostic center operated by the department of
education, and private school that the applicant has previously been an employee of, including full-time,
part-time, or substitute roles. Failure to provide this information may be considered an act of
dishonesty and could affect hiring decisions.
Academic Coach
Academic Coaches have a specialized talent and skill such as dance, speech and debate, robotics, cheer sideline, and other club sport/activity. Our Academic Coaches work with middle school or high school students across the District sites.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and interest in the coaching area.
Can work collaboratively in a school environment with students and teachers.
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with students and teachers.
Have reliable and consistent means of communication and transportation.
Coaches may be required to lift, push, pull, or carry supplies and classroom furniture weighing up to 40 lbs. Must also bend, twist, reach, stand, and/or sit for extended periods of time.
