Schedule:
Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk)
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Department: Finance - 135

Primary Purpose:

The IT Business Analyst will work closely with both business and IT teams to ensure that technological solutions effectively meet the needs of the business. Responsible for translating the Finance and ARUP leaders’ information needs into technical solutions that maximize the use of technology while ensuring clear business benefits and value. Rely on experience, collaboration, and judgment, to plan and accomplish goals. 

Bridges the gap between information technology systems, which hold corporate financial data, and the community of users who need relevant, timely, and understandable information. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates information needs and efficiency opportunities then creates, via technology-based applications, the reports, interfaces, and processes necessary to supply those needs and produce those efficiencies. Where possible, reports and interfaces are implemented in such a way as to empower users to easily obtain the information they need themselves in a user-friendly manner.

Essential Functions:

Design, build and support MS SQL Server databases for the Finance departments 

Support various finance related software programs through upgrades, problem resolution, and vendor correlation. 

Maintain and Support business applications and tools (OpsView, Money Transfer, Nucleus site, etc.) 

Support recurring processes: annual financial plan, quarterly incentives, monthly tasks 

Collaborate with Finance, business leaders, and stakeholders to understand their goals, challenges, and requirements. 

Analyze existing systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement or optimization. 

Is responsible for the oversight of processes, tools, security, and quality around client projects and business information systems. 

Maintains business solutions to optimize analytical processes and outcomes. 

Works with both internal and external: individuals, project leaders, and business leaders to identify analytical requirements 

Oversee the quality and consistency of data reporting and analysis. 

Ensures production of meaningful analytic reports for internal and external use, based on the business needs and direction of clients and management. 

Complete the needed ongoing training to stay current on relevant software applications. 

Maintain frequent contact and interaction with IT Database Management and D365 Development groups. 

Coordinate software and hardware upgrades with the IT department and the vendor. 

Participate in post-implementation reviews to assess system performance and identify areas for improvement.

Physical and Other Requirements:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. 

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.  

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.  

Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others.  

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.  

ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.  

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  

Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
