Job Description
Special Knowledge / Skills: The ability to create and maintain positive relations with students, school personnel, parents, and citizens, and to collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to maintain high quality of services.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES*

1.Develops instructional plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and working time

2.Teaches knowledge and skills in health education utilizing the course of study adopted by the School Board, and other appropriate learning activities

3.Teaches an understanding of the relationship of good body function and exercise; cultivates physical fitness, hygienic habits, and good social and emotional adjustment

4.Provides for safe storage and maintains control and use of school-owned property

5.Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities

6.Uses technology effectively

7.Administers District and State assessments in accordance with testing policies

8.Analyzes and uses data to inform instruction

9.Evaluates each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings and prepares progress reports and grade report.

10. Communicates regularly with parents on student progress

11. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive classroom environment

12.Selects and requisitions instructional materials and maintains required inventory records

13.Maintains professional competence through professional development activities provided by the District and/or self-selected professional growth activities

14.Participates in curriculum and other development programs within the school or on a District level

15.Performs other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Administration from time-to-time

16. The candidate must be able to build a yearly budget based upon the needs relative to all elements of the program.
