Pay: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour

Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Location: Hobbs, New Mexico (On Site)

Travel: Local / Project-Based

Reports To: SW Regional Manager

The Role



The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates a variety of heavy machinery to support Tasman’s construction earthwork field operations. This role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and operating equipment in compliance with safety standards while supporting daily job site activities.



This position may begin as temporary with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and project needs.





What You’ll Be Doing



Equipment Operation & Field Support




  • Operate heavy equipment including front loaders, trackhoes, backhoes, and mini excavators

  • Load, unload, and transport materials to designated work or storage areas

  • Support site operations and assist field crews as needed



Equipment Inspection & Maintenance




  • Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure safe operation

  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs

  • Report mechanical issues or larger repair needs to supervisors promptly



Safety & Compliance




  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

  • Operate equipment in compliance with safety standards

  • Maintain awareness of surroundings when working near crews and other machinery





What You Bring



Required




  • Knowledge of proper operation and safety standards for heavy equipment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

  • Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment

  • Valid driver’s license and authorization to work in the United States



Preferred




  • Oil and gas industry experience

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or willingness to obtain





Work Environment



This role is primarily based in outdoor field environments, including construction and industrial sites.



Field Conditions:




  • Exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain)

  • Working around heavy machinery and moving equipment

  • Routine use of PPE and safety equipment



Physical Requirements:




  • Medium physical effort (up to 50 pounds)

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and equipment operation





Schedule




  • Full-time

  • Work hours vary based on project schedules

  • Overtime may be required

  • Position may start as temporary with potential for full-time employment





Required Education & Experience




  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1+ year of heavy equipment operating experience





Work Authorization




  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
