Job Description

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world’s best pre-K through 12th grade private schools, where approximately 2,200 students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with a cost-free home and a top-notch character & career-focused education.  Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey in 1909, the school is fully endowed today, with the resources to ensure students can thrive.  The school has prepared over 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and is expanding to serve more students.

MHS is seeking a dynamic High School Science Teacher to join a mission‑driven team serving approximately 900 students in grades 9–12. MHS offers small class sizes, well‑resourced classrooms, state‑of‑the‑art technology, and a highly collaborative environment focused on ensuring students reach their full potential and achieve at or above grade level.  MHS also has an extraordinary Agricultural & Environmental Education Program which provides exceptional resources for hands-on science education. 

MHS teachers deliver career-focused rigorous, engaging instruction; use data to differentiate and drive achievement; collaboratively support whole‑child development and character development; and provide remediation beyond regular classroom hours. An additional duty assignment is required as part of the teaching schedule.

This is an on-site position in Hershey, PA with a highly competitive salary range and an excellent benefits package.


  • Bachelor’s degree in education required.  Master’s degree a plus.
  • Certification in high school level Science required. 
  • Experience teaching diverse learners using PA STEELS standards and/or NGSS standards including three-dimensional teaching & learning.   
  • Proven ability to create engaging, rigorous, and relevant lessons.
  • Skilled in data‑driven instruction and differentiation.
  • Strong classroom management; restorative practices a plus.
  • Effective collaborator with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Creative instructional strategies that build critical thinking.
  • Excellent organization and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Coaching or other extra-curricular experience a plus.  Candidates must be “all in” and eager to engage with students beyond the classroom and school day.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.
