Position Summary

The UNM School of Law anticipates hiring qualified temporary part-time Adjunct Faculty to teach and develop specialized legal courses during the 2023 Fall semester.

Openings include the following subjects:

  • ·         Basic Mediation
  • ·         Church and State
  • ·         Community Property
  • ·         Criminal Law in Practice
  • ·         Employment Law
  • ·         Federal Jurisdiction
  • ·         Federal Law in Practice
  • ·         Immigration Law
  • ·         Intellectual Property
  • ·         Labor Law
  • ·         NM Law Review Seminar
  • ·         NM Law Review III
  • ·         Oil & Gas
  • ·         Pre-Trial Practice
  • ·         Spanish for Lawyers I

Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offerings matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates selected to teach within the School of Law will report to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Steven Homer.

Adjunct Faculty at the School of Law are compensated based on credit hour course loads.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess a J.D. degree or equivalent legal degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Any prior law practice experience
  • 1-year of prior teaching experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
