Job Description

POSITION TITLE:   SCHOOL BUS DRIVER

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR

SHIFT INFO: 5 hours per day – 2.5 hours AM and 2.5 hours PM.

This position is a 9 month position.  (171 Contracted Days).

Hourly pay: $24.79/hour.

1.         Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.

2.         Maintain safety precautions when students are boarding and departing the bus.

3.         Maintain appropriate student management and report student incidents to Supervisor.

4.         Follow assigned route and adhere to set schedules.

5.         Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and submit work orders as necessary.

6.         Communicate with department personnel, school personnel and parents about student behavior while on the bus.

7.         Keep assigned bus clean and fueled.

8.         Properly operate all assigned communications equipment.

9.         Report all accidents, vehicle damage and student injuries as they occur.

10.       Complete and submit all required reports and documentation in a timely manner.

11.       Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Valid Minnesota CDL.  High School Diploma or equivalent.
  •  Must be able to pass DOT mandated physical exam and pre-employment and randomly administered drug and alcohol tests.
