Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Agricultural Education Teacher to join the faculty at Gunter High School. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the world of agriculture, develop practical skills, and foster an appreciation for the agricultural industry. This full-time position involves teaching a comprehensive curriculum that includes both classroom instruction and hands-on learning experiences in various agricultural disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and national agricultural education standards.
- Teach a variety of subjects, including plant science, animal science, agribusiness, and agricultural mechanics.
- Facilitate hands-on learning experiences through laboratory activities, field trips, and community projects.
- Supervise and mentor students in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) program, including organizing events, competitions, and community service projects.
- Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to promote agricultural education and enhance student learning opportunities.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring that all equipment and materials are properly used and stored.
- Stay current with advancements in agricultural practices and educational methodologies, attending professional development workshops and conferences.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and committees as required, contributing to the overall mission and vision of Gunter High School.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Agricultural Education or the ability to obtain one.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, technology, and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Experience in teaching or working with high school students is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community partners.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
