Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and customer-focused Kitchen Designer / Sales Consultant to join our team. This role is responsible for designing and selling kitchen cabinetry solutions to retail customers while supporting our outside sales team. The ideal candidate combines strong design skills with a consultative sales approach, helping customers bring their vision to life while delivering an exceptional experience from concept through completion.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Meet with retail and walk-in customers (by appointment) to understand their needs, preferences, and project goals through thoughtful consultation and product knowledge
  • Design kitchen layouts and prepare quotes using 20/20 design software and pricing catalogs
  • Collaborate with outside sales representatives to support customer projects, including design assistance, quoting, and product recommendations
  • Conduct occasional sales calls and introductions to promote our full product line and build future business
  • Coordinate orders, production, and delivery timelines by working closely with customers, the shipping department, and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, project status, and sales forecasts using call sheets and tracking tools
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify additional sales opportunities
  • Recommend showroom updates and assist with the design and setup of new displays to enhance the customer experience
  • Keep current with product knowledge, vendor updates, and design trends by maintaining catalogs and participating in training opportunities
  • Assist with additional design-related projects as needed

Required Education & Experience

  • Previous experience in kitchen design and sales, preferably in a cabinetry or home improvement setting
  • Experience taking field measurements and working directly with customers on-site
  • Proficiency in 20/20 design software (or similar CAD/design programs)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with a friendly, professional approach
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Reliable transportation for occasional travel to customer sites


Physical Demands

  • Primarily desk-based work (approximately 75% sitting) with some standing/walking throughout the day
  • Occasional light lifting and reaching
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, and standard office equipment
  • Must be able to see, hear, and communicate effectively
