Job Summary:
Physical Therapist for Extended School Year Program for students with Autism, multiple disabilities, and other health impairments. Itinerant schedule serving students in multiple center-based, community based and home-based locations.
Essential Functions:
- Independently plan and effectively deliver curriculum based on needs specified in Individual Educational Plans.
- Gather appropriate information from students, parents, and other team members regarding the child’s functional motor performance in school settings.
- Select, administer, and interpret a variety of screening instruments and standardized measurement tools.
- Design and implement physical therapy interventions that allow students to benefit from their educational program.
- Measure and document student progress resulting from the designed physical therapy interventions.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand for long periods, and to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel: Travel may be required for in home and itinerant instruction throughout Bucks County. Mileage is reimbursed in accordance with current IRS guidelines and rates.
Education and Experience:
- Level of Degree:
- Meet the designation of a Bucks IU “Highly Qualified” Paraeducator by showing evidence of at least one of the following:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree
- At least 48 college/university credits
- A high school diploma or equivalency and successfully pass a local assessment. (Bucks IU considers that a Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators from the Pennsylvania Department of Education meets this requirement for those individuals who do not have at least 48 college/university credits or an associate or bachelor’s degree).
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
- Processing software, email, sending attachments and tracking billing.
- CPR & First Aid Certification Required
- Crisis Prevention Institute Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training Required
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable): Citizenship or work authorization to work in the United States required.
