POSITION TITLE: Legal Intern (Law Student)

LOCATION: Cambridge, MA 

DATES: May 26 - August 28, 2026

This position reports to our global HQ in Cambridge, MA and is hybrid with 2-3 days onsite.

Who We Are Looking For: 

The Legal Intern is part of TriNetX’s Legal Team and works directly with attorneys and business partners across TriNetX's global operations. The Legal Intern will gain hands-on exposure to in-house legal practice at a fast-moving health technology company, working on projects that span our business’s breadth, such as contracting, privacy, compliance, and emerging areas like AI governance. This role is ideal for a law student who wants to understand how legal work actually gets done in a modern in-house function, with meaningful responsibility, exposure to senior leadership, and real deliverables. The intern is expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality consistent with TriNetX's values.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Conduct legal research and draft summaries on topics relevant to TriNetX's business, including contracting, global data protection, healthcare regulatory issues, AI governance, IP, and employment law. 
  • Assist with the review of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, network membership agreements, BAAs, DPAs, vendor and collaboration agreements.   
  • Assist in developing internal legal, privacy and AI resources, policies, and SOPs to support business teams and promote compliance across TriNetX’s global operations, including policy updates, documentation, and process improvement initiatives. 
  • Attend legal team meetings, cross-functional project meetings, and business team stand-ups to understand how legal advice is delivered in a business context.  
  • Take on other projects as assigned, with the opportunity to propose and scope a capstone project aligned with the intern's interests. 

What You Bring to TriNetX:

  • Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school, with at least one completed year of legal studies (rising 2L/3L) by the start of the internship. 
  • Excitement to learn about a variety of different types of legal work in an in-house environment. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, willingness to ask thoughtful questions, and own assigned projects from start to finish. 
  • Demonstrated comfort with technology and ability to leverage tools, systems, and workflows to improve efficiency and solve problems. 
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing projects, adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Prior coursework or demonstrated interest in contracts, compliance, data governance, privacy, AI, IP, and/or employment law. 
  • Must be reliably available during core business hours for meetings and project collaboration. 

Bonus points: 

  • Experience or interest in working in the real world evidence, technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry.   
  • Familiarity with global health and privacy regulations such as HIPAA, CCPA, CPRA, GDPR, LGPD or APPI.
