Job Description
The office of Alumni Engagement seeks a student assistant looking to gain knowledge and experience in the world of alumni events and engagement. This position will assist in all aspects of alumni programming – from preparing event materials, assisting with marketing and media efforts, supporting podcast production, to providing administrative support for the office.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Strategically develop, promote and lead the Reunion Student Ambassador (RSA) program with the Assistant Director, Regional & Young Graduate Programming, and plan to serve as a Reunion Student Ambassador during Reunion Weekend (May 28 - 31, 2026), as able.
- Provide creative insight and thinking when vetting and assisting with program/event development.
- Create, distribute, and track social media content and engagement.
- Contribute to podcast post-production by editing, producing, and transcribing.
- Assist with occasional event execution and mailed engagement opportunities.
- Provide general administrative support to the office, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicant must be a current undergraduate student.
- Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, reliable, responsible, and have a strong commitment to customer service.
- Attention to detail is mandatory!
- Mastery of the major social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Basic knowledge of photo, video, and audio editing and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Audacity, etc.
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Ability to exercise discretion in a confidential work environment.
- Previous Reunion Student Ambassador experience preferred, but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Professional business office setting
- Flexible schedule of approximately 4-6 hours per week (Monday-Friday).
- Willingness to work some evening and weekends (i.e. Homecoming, Reunion, local signature and regional events) strongly desired.
- Work activities may include occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 30 pounds, and the ability to move tables and chairs as necessary.
