Description
The Leadership Director leads and supervises the Leader In Training (LIT) program, creating meaningful leadership opportunities while fostering a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for campers and staff. This role is actively engaged in all aspects of camp, supporting participant growth through mentorship, training, and positive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the LIT program, including planning, scheduling, and daily operations
- Support participant development in leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate LITs, providing ongoing guidance and feedback
- Ensure a safe environment by enforcing camp policies and addressing concerns appropriately
- Collaborate with camp leadership and staff to support overall camp operations
- Participate in staff training, evening programs, and on-duty responsibilities
- Maintain positive communication with staff, campers, and families
- Complete required documentation and reports on time
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability and desire to work with children and collaborate with peers in an outdoor environment
- Prior camp experience in a programmatic or administrative staff role
- Experience in leadership training, team building, and experiential education
- Ability to design, schedule, organize, and implement experiential leadership programs
- Strong role model with high integrity, adaptability, and professionalism
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
- Ability to effectively communicate with, supervise, and instruct individuals across various ages and skill levels
- Ability to observe camper and staff behavior, assess appropriateness, and apply behavior management techniques as needed
- Ability to enforce safety regulations and respond to emergencies in accordance with camp policies
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and activity-related hazards
- Physical ability to respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary
- Ability to safely operate a 12-passenger van with occupants
- Willingness and ability to reside on-site for the duration of the camp season
