Job Description

The Child, Adolescent and Family Health Bureau (CAFH) are one of six bureaus at the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC). The mission of CAFH is to promote the health and wellbeing of individuals, children, and families in the city of Boston with an emphasis on those most underserved. CAFH has approximately 120 staff working in 17 programs that focus on three primary areas: perinatal and early childhood health, adolescent health, and violence prevention. CAFH activities include health education and promotion, direct clinical and client services, case management, and organizational capacity building.

The Project Coordinator will report to the Associate Bureau Director for the Child, Adolescent, and Family Health Bureau and support the Healthy Start Systems efforts to strengthen and expand father-focused programming and partnerships across the city. This role will provide direct support to the Father Friendly Initiative (FFI), the Father Engagement Request for Proposal (RFP) process—particularly in coordinating activities between mentor and mentee organizations—and assist with the development and implementation of the City of Boston’s Father Engagement Campaign.

The ideal candidate is passionate about BPHC’s mission, fatherhood, community engagement, and health equity, and is skilled at building relationships with diverse community partners and organizations serving fathers and families.

DUTIES:

  • Support coordination and implementation of Father Friendly Initiative (FFI) events, trainings, and community outreach efforts.
  • Assist in the management and tracking of the Father Engagement RFP partnerships, including communications and logistics between mentor and mentee organizations.
  • Contribute to the planning and rollout of the Father Engagement Campaign in collaboration with the City of Boston’s communications team and community stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and community events to promote father engagement and visibility of program efforts.
  • Gather feedback and data from partners and participants to inform program improvements and reporting.
  • Support the development of outreach materials, social media content, and campaign messaging promoting father involvement.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation, databases, and progress reports related to fatherhood programming and initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with staff across BPHC, other city departments, and external organizations to execute key deliverables.
  • Work to help BPHC become an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
