Housekeeper
Position Summary:
To establish standards of cleanliness and presentation for Enriched Senior Living rooms as well as common areas.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
Resident rooms as well as common areas will be cleaned according to the schedule and as the need arises. Provide daily, weekly, quarterly and annual routine cleaning the following task: changing sheets and making beds, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, tubs and sinks, dusting, emptying trash receptacles, and cleaning kitchen so that resident rooms stay clean, clutter-free and odor-free.
Essential Duties:
Dust, vacuum and mop all common areas routinely and as needed to maintain a clean environment.
Dust, vacuum, straighten and empty trash receptacles in all offices and beauty shop.
Wash walls, windows and woodwork as needed to keep clean.
Empty all trash receptacles and ashtrays. Take gathered trash to dumpsters as needed to maintain an odor-free and sanitary environment.
Keep all public restrooms clean and stocked with appropriate supplies for convenience of residents, staff and visitors.
Handle all chemicals according to the manufacturer's directions. Keep all chemicals under lock and key when not in use for the safety of the residents.
Work efficiently in order to complete all assigned tasks during shift.
Keep utility, storage and laundry rooms clean and in an orderly condition.
Clean lint traps as necessary to prevent a fire hazard.
Disinfect and sterilize equipment such as mops, brooms and cleaning materials such as clothes.
Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies as assigned.
Wash windows, door panels and sills.
Provide minor maintenance of cleaning items such as: Cleaning apartment air conditioner filters, change light bulbs as needed, unclog toilets (report to management when unable to clear), clean up of outside areas, including entrances and patios.
“Make-ready” cleaning of vacant rooms. Advise management of rooms cleaned and ready for occupancy.
Examine rooms, halls and lobbies to determine needed for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment. Make recommendations to management.
Maintain regular, punctual attendance as scheduled.
Attend all scheduled in-serves.
Fully knowledgeable of the fire evacuation and disaster policy for the community. Participate as assigned in fire and disaster drills.
Demonstrate an understanding of compliance and ethics program policies and procedures.
Complete all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory training as required.
Maintain an appropriate degree of confidentiality.
Report any abuse and/or neglect allegations in accordance with the law.
Perform other duties as assigned and which relate to the success of Enriched Senior Living and the care, comfort and happiness of our residents.
Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
Basic housekeeping skills.
People person - must be comfortable interacting with residents, family members and other Enriched staff members.
Proactive thinking (exploring other options based on resident's needs).
