Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties within an industrial manufacturing environment. Maintenance Technicians ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment by performing preventative maintenance, interpreting technical diagrams and schematics, reviewing equipment operation manuals, and diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical malfunctions.





Essential Functions:




  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to maintain optimal performance and reliability.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues involving automation systems, electrical components, mechanical equipment, pneumatics and hydraulic systems.

  • Repair or replace faulty parts, components, or systems using knowledge of automation, electrical, mechanical, pneumatics and hydraulic principles.

  • Install, set up, and adjust automation equipment such as PLC’s, sensors, actuators and other control devices.

  • Inspect and test machinery to detect potential problems and implement corrective actions before failures occur.

  • Work closely with production staff and maintenance team members to resolve equipment issues quickly and efficiently.

  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc-flash safety, and other workplace safety standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or other tracking tools.

  • Stay current with developments in automation, electrical, mechanical, pneumatics and hydraulic technologies through training and professional development.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.



Qualifications:




  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in industrial maintenance, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training in maintenance millwrighting.

  • Strong technical knowledge of automation systems, electrical systems, mechanical components, and hydraulic systems.

  • Welding experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment.

  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and arc-flash safety practices.

  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

  • 5 - 8 years of experience is preferred.



The salary range for this position is $38 - $45 p/hour depending on experience.
